Empire Casino, Leicester Square – London

Empire Casino in Leicester Square was the very first UK Casino I visited and I normally pop in for either a go on the slots or a beer or both, whenever I am in London.

Bear in mind that I didn’t return back to the UK from Gibraltar until 2006. The Empire is one of several casinos vying for customers in Leicester Square, with the likes of The Grosvenor and the Hippodrome casino competing alongside the Empire.

Certainly in my view not the ‘nicest’ casino that you can walk straight into in the Capital, with The Empire having a bit of a ‘spit and sawdust’ feel about it.

However, it’s location and size make it a good place to meet up with friends and colleagues alike, when in London. With a sizeable bar and restaurant area providing ample space to unwind in, where you can also watch the latest sporting events on numerous big screens dotted around the open floor plan.

Empire Membership and Loyalty Points

A big plus about becoming a member at the Empire Casino is the fact that you are awarded loyalty points when playing any of the Slot Machines or other gaming cabinets situated in the casino.

Indeed a good friend of mine, has accrued so many loyalty points he could probably eat three times a day in London for a week, without the need for getting his wallet out!

Gaming Tables and Poker Room

The Ground Floor is where the Gaming Tables and also the Cash Desk is located. Again this is open plan and there is enough variety of games with varying cash limits available to choose from.

The Empire also boasts a dedicated poker room , where poker tournaments are regularly held for members and non members alike.

Slots

As per most casinos in the UK, The Empire is restricted to a total of 20 slot machine cabinets. However, they are able to offer far in excess of 20 different slot games, thanks to the casino utilising the popular Novomatic powered Gaminator cabinets.

Overall Opinion

Of all the casinos I have visited and frequented in London, The Empire is possibly the most down to earth. Meaning, there is no such thing as a dress code and you do not need to show ID to walk in through the door. Unless of course you look under 18!

If you are in the Leicester Square area and whilst spoilt for choice, I do recommend that you give The Empire a visit, even if it is for five minutes.
