I will give you a couple of questions!

You play at a RTG casino and have just finished 50 spins on Green Light at lowest bet size but all lines. You have wagered a total of 10$ and you have lost 6$ even if you have hit the free spin feature twice.

What are you going to do/think now?

a. Continue play with this because it has to hit..

b. Continue with another 50 spins but increase the betsize because it really has to hit.

c. Change machine ASAP! This one doesn´t hit today! I would have changed earlier!

You have hit free spins on the Microgaming slot Summer Holiday(all lines, smallest bet size) and you received the incredible amount of 198$.
All wins came in the 4 first spins(out of 15) and then nothing.

What are you going to think now?

a) Continue with this one, it´s really hitting today.

b) I go for the gambling feature, I´m not satisfied with 198$..

c) Change slot machine now, this one is going to be tight for a while.

You have deposit 50$ at a Playtech casino and you simply love those two special 8 line slots Chinese Kitchen and Vacation. These two are the slots you deposit for.

Chinese Kitchen has raisened your bank roll with 9$ after 50 spins and you are trying the other one. It´s a disaster after 25 spins, your bank roll is decreased with 4.50.

What are you going to think now?

a) Vacation has to hit, I´ll try it another 25 spins.

b) I will play more Chinese Kitchen, I am lucky at that one

c) I will change to one of the 20 line slots now or I am quitting for today and will continue tomorrow.

A common theme among the scenarios seems to be... has to hit, is not going to hit, will keep hitting. All of those things seem to be true at different times. The maths say it will hit. The maths say each spin is the same so it doesn't have to.

The nature of randomness dictates that wins and losses will sometimes come in clumps, the higher the variance the more scattered but volitile. I've found some luck in trying to ride those waves but it has to just be dumb luck. If I see two scatters I'll often at least treble my bet for a few spins, sometimes even going from .01 all lines to a dollar a line on 3 or 5 lines just for kicks.

How many results does the RNG go through in a thousanth of a second? Too many for me to try to outwit.

I've certainly lost more often than won on those guesses so for the most part I just take any sort of random triggering event because it just doesn't matter! lol The only strategy I really have is mixing it all up. I've had a feature on the first spin as often as the last and probably the medium. It just makes sense to me to increase my variance and wager by lowering the number of lines even if I am playing on a high variance slot. Flatbetting just seems like an invitation for the HA to eat me.

Sure, I'd have more opportunities to catch a feature if I run through my last $10 at .20 a spin, but I always go balls to the wall near the end... I'd rather go out or stay in with a bang than rust and fade away.

There's really no science to it other than rudimentary bankroll management so I wonder if play style is really just a reflection of personality when it comes to slots? Probably in my case.

What I normally do was not one of your options anyway; usually on every slot I play I will do another 25 spins to see if it will hit again - if not I move on.

I've only done 25 spins and only lost half what I gained on the first one - I would carry on.
(Though I probably wouldn't play Vacation Station in the first place because every time I've played it in the past it REALLY SUCKED! I would always prefer the other 8-liner; Ultimate Fighters!)

I have to say that both inputs are good. I would have played it down to 200 and cashed out. 170$ winning is a lot of money to deposit later on.

However, the thought of use winnings to play risky is interesting. I have tried it several times and even bet 6.25$ on T-Rex..

I didn´t see even two eggs..

I have once done it with luck at Unibet when I bet on soccer and hockey. I used the winnings to gamble a bit more in a way I never do otherwise. I played triples on a lot of matches and I chose odds with around 2.00 (2:1) and I won 1000$ and I had deposit 25$ from the beginning.

After this I have never won at Unibet..strange. I can´t blame them for rigging the matches?

My own theories about casinos and their edge is that we players have one option which can give us another kind of advantage.

It´s the ability to stop playing on a machine or to cash out.

They are surely trying to remove that option with WR on bonuses..

EDIT: Winward made this perfectly clear when they didn´t allow people to deposit without bonus at all..
