Don't screw with your affiliates. Do anything to the players, but woe betide maltreatment of the affiliates. You may recall this matter, in early 2006: http://www.hundredpercentgambling.co...icrogaming.htm Grand Privè stole $20,000 from a US resident. They took her deposits willingly enough, but when she cashed out...oops, sorry, you're underage. Bailey briefly rogued them. He then quietly snuck them of the rogue list a while later and "accredited" them. Some swift shift, huh? Rogue to "accredited"? But he was the only affiliate to do anything. All the rest of you happily carried on listing them. None of you gave a flying rat's backside. I wonder why? But now, in a poetically appropriate turn of events, all of the affiliates who failed the players back then are now squealing...because THEY are losing money. In a monumental overreaction and complete misrepresentation of the situation, we're reading that somehow this casino group is no longer safe, that the fact that they are closing affiliate accounts somehow equates to risk to players. Thanks. We already new this. But we did not know this because of current mistreatment of affiliates. When the players are cheated you conveniently turn a blind eye. Then, when affiliates are being cheated, all of a sudden somehow the players are being cheated and the players should take action, email the casinos their righteous indignation of a matter which does not regard them in the slightest. So: When the players are cheated, the affiliates (save one, and then remarkably briefly) take no action. But when the affiliates are cheated, the players are required to act on the affiliates' behalf. Uh...huh? Come on now; this double-standard isn't going to wash anywhere. When you take no action on behalf of players, players are not required to support you when YOU ask for help. Yet you somehow believe they should. I use the collective "you" here. I'm not singling out you from the others, I think all affiliate sites are currently peddling this nonsense and complete misrepresentation and distortion of the situation. |

I'm certainly not getting into a debate about this with you, but if I remember correctly (and I'm sure you will correct me if I'm wrong!) the player broke the casino's T&C's by opening an account when under age, and once discovered the casino confiscated her winnings and returned all her deposits. If this was the case, then nothing was 'stolen' from the player. The current case with affiliates is the opposite; the affiliates have not broken the T&C's of the contract - the casinos have. When they joined the Grand Prive affy program they were promised 'commissions for the lifetime of the player', not 'for the lifetime of the affy programme'. So who is talking double standards here? Your saying it's OK for the players to break the T&C's, and they shouldn't be punished. But when the casinos break the T&C's it's totally fine for them to rip-off their affiliates. As you are obviously totally not supporting the action being taken by the webmasters, would you like me to ask everyone to remove the link to your site from all their lists? (Don't ask me how it got there in the first place - I haven't the faintest!) KK

My link is totally unrelated to the current matter. Whether it's there or not makes no odds to me, and I also don't know why it's there. I have no desire to be incorrectly associated with any matter. So if you are so inclined, feel free to contact anyone you want to have the link removed. If everything was OK, why did Bailey (briefly) rogue them? They did not pay back lifetime deposits. They confiscated her winnings. They may have paid back the one deposit that led to the winnings, I don't know about that. The principle, however, was that they happily accepted her deposits while she was losing. There were no "underage" issues then. Grand Prive were more than happy to serve an underage loser. The problem was when she became an underage winner. As to the underage issue per se, this is unclear in itself. The "age of consent" under Nevada laws is 21. There is much crossover, and there was not a little debate. As such: the casino saw "18" somewhere in the legislation, and jumped on it. The affy community saw "18" somewhere in the legislation, and, as you have here, jumped on it. Anything to justify not paying the player, and the affiliate community jumps on it. Case in point in your response. Then, the boot's on the other foot: Grand Prive can make a case for not paying affiliates going forward, if they are closing their marketing programme. NOTA BENE: they can make a case. I didn't say "...are justified", I said "...can make a case". Just as they could "make a case" for not playing that girl. Equally, they could have acknowledged their error, paid, and closed her account. That would have been the fair action, having taken her deposits. But they didn't, and they could make a case for it. The affiliates were all happy-clappy to go on promoting them. Now, Grand Prive can make another case for non-payment: no more marketing, no more affy cashy. Fair? NO. Case? YES. When they made a case for player non-payment, the affiliate silence reigned supreme. Of course it did - affiliates weren't about to stop making money when the casino could "justify" themselves. Now they're making another case for non-payment, with "justification". Why aren't the affiliates silent THIS time? The answer is obvious enough: the casino's actions this time don't result in a screwed player; they result in screwed affiliates. So now, the reaction is the absolute opposite - we see THE most outlandish claims and attacks. KK, just imagine what would happen if a PLAYER came out and said, about a casino, what you have said: Quote:
When the casino can sleight-of-hand its way out of player non-payment, it's all hushy hushy for the affy bucky. When the casino can sleight-of-hand its way out of affiliate non-payment, whoaaaaaa baby. Affy ain't so happy. This is very poetically appropriate in my opinion: the girl lost $20,000 and received no affiliate community support. Now, the affiliate community is losing WAY more than $20,000 in future earnings. Caruso says: what goes around comes around. Maybe you should have dropped them earlier? |
