We seem to still be getting too many of these unwanted characters on the forums these days, but do you know the definitions?
From Wikipedia:
A Shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services or a political group, who pretends no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services or support the political group's ideological claims. Shills are often employed by confidence artists (Con men). In the UK the term plant is also used. From KK: A Spammer is less subtle than a shill and is someone who's only interest in posting is to promote his own website. This is usually pretty obvious due to the post being a straightforward advertisement, 'cut & pasted', slightly off-topic, or just meaningless drivel. Both Shills & Spammers seem to be inherently unable to find the Forum Rules despite the link in my signature, so here you are:- Quote:

The purpose of this forum is to provide a resource for players and affiliates alike. But not to become a link farm.
I hope this clears things up
