I have the latest on this after just speaking to 32Red.
The changes as described in the thread are correct. Whereas previously we would award $25 to the first person to answer the question, and $5 to the next 50 runners-up, we now award $32 to the first 10 players to answer correctly.
We have made the changes because the old system was unfair to certain players whose emails were delivered slower than others. Now the question is not contained in the email, but rather it is released online at the time announced in the newsletter. This means everyone can access the question at exactly the same time, which gives all our players an equal chance to be in the top 10.
So as you can see, still a very good incentive
