Hi melko, just joined up here but i guess i will throw my two cents in.
It seems like when things are running well everything is clicking and you feel like you can never lose again. But when the cards turn against you it seems every bad beat and every river is magnified to point where it seems you will never win again.lol
This is true in live play but it can seem even worse in online as you are looking at 3 times as many hands in an hour to make these bad runs seem even worse. All you can do is try and stay on your best game and keep getting your money in when you have the best of it.Poker is a long run game. One week or one month of bad cards will not determine the long run results of a good player. In the end the good player will overcome these streaks and come out on top and the bad players and chasers will be on the short end of the money tree.
If you feel your on your game continue to do exactly as your doing and the streak will change. If you feel in some way that you are somewhat reponsible for your bad run and that your game is off then it is time for a tuneup and go back to the basics and rebuild your game to where you want it to be.
I have had the same bad run of cards the last month or so and i have been questioning everything from my own ability to play this game and i have been playing almost 15 years,to well maybe some of these sites are not up and up and the whole thing of examining every bad beat to the point of exhaustion. In the end the only answer i come up with is it will change in time as it always does for the good player and i will soon be winning again on a regular basis.
The one main thing i have noticed is that the swings in online poker seem to be a much bigger issue than when i play live, and the only thing i come up with after researching this is that it is for the simple reason that you see more hands, plain and simple.
Is there stuff going on at some sites well maybe or maybe not, same chance you take at any private game you walk into not held at a casino.Anything is possible when it comes to money but i would be willing to bet mine that it is in the minority and no where near as bad as some of the conspiricy folks would lead you to believe.I am much more inclined to say the beats seem worse online for the simple reason of the amount of hands dealt compared to live play.
Anyway hope it turns for you soon and good luck at the tables.
