There are three main reasons as to why we have taken the hard
decision to blacklist Vegas Affiliates and urge all
webmasters who are considering working with this program, to
proceed with extreme caution.
Earlier in 2009, Vegas Affiliates decided to change the terms and
conditions retroactively which their existing partners signed up to.
There were two specific areas which these introduced changes meant
had a negative impact on affiliate earnings.
Firstly there was the bundling of all
online casinos
making up the Mini Vegas Group which Vegas Affiliates is responsible
for marketing - previously each casino was ring fenced from each
other - meaning a negative balance on one casino, would not affect
commission earned across all other casinos. This was applied
retroactively which means it also applied to affiliates who had
signed up with Vegas Affiliates under the old terms, whereby each
casino was ring fenced from each other.
Secondly, Vegas Affiliates decided to also introduce player quotas
which again was initially going to be applied retroactively. In
layman terms, this meant if a webmaster promoting Vegas Affiliates
failed to produce the required minimum number of new depositing
players over a 60 day period, Vegas Affiliates could then remove all
existing players from that webmaster's affiliate account.
Thankfully after much negotiation led by affiliate webmasters,
Vegas Affiliates have decided not to introduce this term
retroactively. However for all new affiliates signing up to Vegas
Affiliates, quotas are now written into the terms and conditions of
the affiliate program contract.
Online Casino Reviewer deems both moves made by Vegas Affiliates as
predatory and on their own they would be enough reason for us
to recommend to webmasters to avoid promoting Vegas Affiliates.
However these predatory changes which Vegas Affiliates have
implemented are nothing compared to what we have subsequently heard.
Affiliate Guard Dog has recently also marked Vegas Affiliates as a
rogue program and in this
thread it is stated:
"Vegas Affiliates have been known to threaten affiliates who
speak against the program on forums or in other media. Affiliates
who are earning with their program currently have been threatened to
remove the blacklistings or lose their player base (income)."
Sebastian the Affiliate Manager for Vegas Affiliates then commented
in the same thread:
"Engineer was asked to refrain from posting negative and
libellous comments about VegasAffiliates or we would have been well
within our rights to close his account. Note that we did not close
his account but merely warned him after numerous unfounded and
opinionated comments that were stated as fact and clearly were not."
Now from what has been detailed by the affiliate Engineer and other
webmasters on forums and websites - are commentaries on the actions
taken by Vegas Affiliates. Therefore nothing libellous has actually
been written, only the facts. The last time I checked, certainly in
the United Kingdom where Online Casino Reviewer is based, stating
the facts is not libellous.
We therefore deem the strong arm tactics of threatening legal action
and account closure used by Vegas Affiliates to intimidate their
partners as a rogue and bullying action. In fact it sets out in our
opinion Vegas Affiliates as the most affiliate unfriendly program to
work with in the online gambling industry.
Vegas Affiliates is responsible for the marketing of the following
